| Long eared Owl, Farlington Marshes, Hampshire 21 February 2009 A digiscoped record shot of this splendid bird, which was unfortunately well tucked-in to the bush, and too distant for anything like reasonable results with the DSLR. This was the only pic which showed the bird's eye open. Fast asleep the rest of the time, it seemed. |

Tree Sparrow, Loch of Strathbeg, Aberdeenshire 18 February 2009 Apparently there is a thriving colony at this northerly RSPB reserve. The feeders are situated right by the car park, so this pic was taken without needing to get out of the car! Short Eared Owl, Bury Down 14 February 2009 Slightly more obliging than a few weeks ago, in glorious sunny conditions this morning. This is a quite heavily cropped pic, using the x1.4 TC. Compliments the flight pic taken here last year. |
