Red
Throated Diver, Coate Water, Wiltshire
23 March
2008
Occasionally
briefly coming very close to the shore. This 'close
encounter' coincided with an all too rare sunny spell
today.

This close
approach was in dull conditions - note the reduced
contrast and duller colours compared with the pic above.

Final shot
- somewhat more distant than those above, and no sun.

Bearded
Tit, Farlington Marshes, Hampshire
10 Feb 2008
The calm
sunny conditions tempted these delightful birds out from
the cover they usually hide in at this site, and quite
close to the viewing point.
This is a
very heavily cropped pic which has turned out better than
expected, given its tiny size in the original combined
with the fact that I think it was taken with the x1.4
converter on.
Can you see
the Bearded Tit in the centre of the original frame -
below?

Brent
Goose, Farlington Marshes, Hampshire
10 Feb 2008
A superb
sunny day for a walk around these marshes. This bird was
very obliging, quite close to the path, and unconcerned
by passers by.
No need for
much cropping on this one!

Goose, Hayling Island, Hampshire

Again quite
tame, with high tide bringing them close in.

One of at
least 5 present on a nice sunny morning. There have been
