Little Owl. Portland, Dorset 27 March 2023 One of the well know pair of birds at home in its quarry. Click to enlarge |

Wheatear. Portland, Dorset 26 March 2023 Nicely perched up along the exit road from a car park at the end of Chesil Beach. But rather distant and hand held, using the car as a hide. Click to enlarge |

Buzzards. Berwick Basset, Wiltshire 9 February 2023 A great visit to David White's Buzzard Hide, high on the Marlborough Downs. Unlike my previous two visits, I got some great light, albeit not until the afternoon. The morning was very dull and misty. Action shots are possible here as the Buzzards seem to be very aggressive towards one another, even when there is plenty of food available. This shot was taken in a duller spell. Red Kite. Berwick Basset, Wiltshire 9 February 2023 Red Kites were around but difficult to photo today as they were not landing and the wind was blowing towards the hide. This one made a brief close appearance late on. Click to enlarge |
Raven. Berwick Basset, Wiltshire 9 February 2023 As well as the raptors, there was a pair of Ravens around. This photo shows the male taken once the sun had come out. Click to enlarge |
Raven. Berwick Basset, Wiltshire 9 February 2023 This photo was taken early on when it was very dull at a crazy ISO setting of 32,000 with the Canon R7! It is amazing was noise reduction tools can do (in this case mainly Topaz)! Click to enlarge |
Raven. Berwick Basset, Wiltshire 9 February 2023 An unusual view of a Raven! Click to enlarge |
Pheasant. Berwick Basset, Wiltshire 9 February 2023 Rather ironically, this live Pheasant wandered around early on! Click to enlarge |

Bar-tailed Godwit. Titchwell Beach,
Norfolk 28 November 2022 My annual low tide vigil on the water's edge at Titchwell Beach produced just one fairly close fly-past. This is it. Shortly afterwards the light went and it became very dull. Click to enlarge |

Turnstone. Brancaster Staithe,
Norfolk 28 November 2022 It was very cloudy for nearly all of our week in Norfolk but this was a very occasion when the sun came out briefly . Click to enlarge. |
Pochard. Welney WWT, Norfolk 25 November 2022 By looking to the right of the hide, I managed to get a few close photos of Pochards, in good light. Click to enlarge. |
Whooper Swan. Welney WWT, Norfolk 25 November 2022 Nice to have full sun on our annual visit to Welney, en-route to North Norfolk. But by the time we had got to the photo hide underneath the main one, it had moved rather too far round for best results. Click to enlarge. |
