much was coming close, but there was a huge Lapwing flock around,
a few of which came within photo range, once or twice.

A small group of Pintail gradually drifted closer while asleep.
When they woke up it didn't take them long to head off into the

After a morning of lovely light but few worthwhile photo
opportunities, this bird flew across just as I was about the
leave.
A bit distant but I like the golden morning light on
the reeds behind and the contrast with the white bird.

Today was a complete contrast to last week, with some sun and blue

Good to be out again, albeit on a dismal, misty and heavily
overcast day. At least a few birds were coming reasonably close
this morning, including this egret that flew into the shore not
too far away.

A great
session today as the Kingfisher performed well on the perch for a
good 15 mins, with the sun shining for most of the time!
Again the pre-capture on my new R5 Mk II worked well and allowed
me to get some shots that would have been possible without this
facility.

departed the perch.

Going
down! It was successful in this dive and came back with a small
fish that it consumed facing away from the camera the whole time,
so no shots of that!

Prior to all the Kingfisher action above, this bird flew in quite
close and posed briefly. This was before the sun had reached this
spot, but I liked the delicate blue background caused by a
reflection of the early morning cloudless sky.
