Hardraw Force is in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, near to Hawes. It is England's tallest single drop waterfall (100 ft). It is on land owned by the Green Dragon Inn and a modest entrance fee is required to walk the short distance from the car park up to the falls. Visiting on a sunny day, after a period of heavy rain there was plenty of water coming down but there was a big problem with the contrast between the sunlight parts of this scene and the (very) shady areas. The approach I used was to combine more than one photo taken with different exposures in PhotoShop, blending in the two sections so the join isn't obvious! Note this was more effective than trying to combine the different images using the HDR option. Canon EOS R5 & EF 24-70mm f4 L lens (tripod mounted) with ND 64 filter |
