I'm currently struggling to find subjects for photography, so this
Fieldfare that appeared in the garden to feed on apples in the
recent cold spell was very welcome.
A difficult subject
though as it was very wary and stayed as close to cover as it
could.

This photo only possible using the Canon R7's pre-capture
facility, as it was taken about 1/4 second before I pressed the
shutter button! Its also amazing how well the AF tracked the bird
from its take off to leaving the frame only a fraction of a second
later.

It was -7° C first thing this morning but probably somewhat warmer
by the time this Snipe appeared about 4 hours later! With the
frozen conditions, it was showing much better than normal.

This bird was flushed by a trespasser and flew up in considerable
alarm. The sky was an interesting mixture of blue and dark clouds
with the bird in full sun. Unfortunately the bird was looking away
in the entire sequence.
